Boracay guide

Boracay is a small island South of Manila. Getting there requires different modes of transportation such as by air, by land and by sea.

Boracay, Philippines

Boracay is split into different stations, and Crimson Hotel is in Station 0.

We suggest staying in Station 1 or 2, as anything further might be too far.

We’ve put together a list of hotels in Station 1 and 2, but if you prefer, you can totally book an Airbnb instead!

How to get to Caticlan (Boracay) from Manila

You can choose between option A and option B.

  • Via Philippine Airlines/Cebu Pacific/Air Asia/Royal Air - 45 min from Manila on air bus plane.

Flying straight to Caticlan Airport saves time, as it is directly on the Jetty Port. However, the airfare is usually higher than via Kalibo, also, during bad weather conditions flights are rerouted to Kalibo for safety reasons.

  • Via Cebu Pacific/Philippine Airlines/Air Asia - 45 min flights

From Manila and 2-hour land transfer from Kalibo to Caticlan.

Private vans for hire and air conditioned buses are available (no pre booking required, can be arranged on arrival in Kalibo)

Arrival to Caticlan

Caticlan is a jump-off point to Boracay from the Jetty Port. It’s best to change into slippers/sandals at the Jetty Port for your comfort and in anticipation of the beach.

Transfers

You can choose between option A, B or C.

  • Transfers may be included in the services offered by your hotel. While this option can be more expensive, it offers great convenience as your hotel will handle both your luggages and transportation.

  • Public bancas (small, motorized boats) from the Jetty Port transport passengers to the centralized boat station on the island, which takes about 10 min travel time. Boats are on a first-come-first-serve basis).

Php 30-50 - Boracay Port (Cagban Port) to your hotel for shared e-trike

More infos

  • There are a number of banks on the island that will change dollars or euros. Most resorts have this service as well. There are ATMs at the D'Mall that you can withdraw from. Ideally, paying in cash is the better way of settling bills when in restaurants or malls, as some small restaurants/resorts/shops may charge for credit card usage. Please confirm with your resort regarding their payment policy.
